Context
The Department of Computer Science is looking to appoint a Lecturer (teaching) in Software Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, to enable the growth of our software systems engineering and artificial intelligence and data engineering curricula. This is a full-time permanent post at Grade 8. The appointees will be based in the Software Systems Engineering (SSE) group within the Department of Computer Science at UCL.

Main purpose of the job
The recruited faculty member will be mainly responsible to act as module lead for modules offered by the MSc in Software Systems Engineering and the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, which are specialised MSc programmes run by the SSE group at UCL Computer Science. The recruited faculty member will be asked to design new modules as well as contribute to existing ones towards the growth of our curricula on the adoption of Software Engineering principles for realising effective and responsible Artificial Intelligence Systems, as well as on the adoption of Artificial Intelligence for agentic-based software and data engineering. There will be significant opportunities for the recruited faculty member to show thought leadership in these areas, to supervise excellent BSc, MSc and PhD students and work with several industrial parters thought the UCL IXN programme. Additionally, they may be asked to teach lectures and tutorials across oth er related modules in collaboration with other tutors as well as contribute to administration activities within the Department of Computer Science, as agreed with their line manager.
