The Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a Research Assistant in Young People's Mental Health to work with Professor Tim Dalgleish on a one-year fixed-term appointment from October 2026.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge psychological research within a world-class academic environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in day-to-day research operations, including managing ongoing clinical trials and overseeing digital data collection. Beyond study administration, the successful candidate will be closely involved in the academic lifecycle of various projects, including data analysis, preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, and presenting findings to the wider research community. The successful candidate will also contribute to clinical administration and assessment with trauma-exposed populations.

We are seeking a researcher who holds a strong Bachelor's degree, and ideally a Master's degree, in psychology or a closely related quantitative field. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience working on clinical trials, a track record of managing digital data collection pipelines, strong writing skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work independently to meet project milestones. A key feature of this role is advanced data analysis; therefore, proficiency in statistical modelling and data visualization in R is essential.

The role involves working with trauma-affected populations and sensitive clinical material and so experience working with clinical populations is highly desirable. The successful candidate will therefore need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2027 in the first instance.
