Job Summary
This Medical Research Foundation (https://www.medicalresearchfoundation.org.uk/) funded post will work on a three-year project to identify risk factors for the development of serious immune related adverse events (irAEs) following treatment with Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors. This project will use samples collected by the ICI Genetics study, sponsored by the University of Birmingham. This study has collected ~3,000 patient samples. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary research team within the Department of Cancer and Genomic Sciences. The roles will include: sample retrieval for DNA extraction and analysis of prior exposure to viruses in plasma, SNP genotyping data quality control, conducting genome wide association studies of irAEs and overall survival, functional follow up of lead variants using in vitro techniques, supporting design and conduct of patient and public involvement events, disseminating work at meetings and conferences.

Person Specification
Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation on a research project they have previously been involved in. They will also be asked to review a research paper in advance, which will form the basis of some of the questions during their interview.
