Durham University’s Centre for Academic Development (DCAD) is seeking an exceptional educator to join our Foundation Programmes as an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Social Sciences.

This is an exceptional opportunity to teach and support students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, helping them thrive in higher education. You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive team, delivering innovative teaching and contributing to curriculum development in a world-class academic environment.

We’re looking for someone with:

• A postgraduate qualification and ideally a PhD (or equivalent demonstrable practitioner experience and skills) in the Social Sciences.
• The capacity to teach skills and approaches to study, drawing on a broad social science curriculum
• A strong track record of teaching excellence and pedagogical innovation
• A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in education

This is a 12 month fixed term role on Durham’s Education Track, offering clear progression and professional development opportunities.
