The Faculty has a large and experienced professional services team, led by the Director of Operations. It is structured to support defined areas of academic activity and the governance, management, operations and leadership of the Faculty. The Faculty Operations Team is responsible for the smooth running of the Faculty’s day to day operations including HR, finance and purchasing, estates management, and administrative support.

About the role

This role provides a comprehensive and efficient support service across all aspects of HR, including, but not limited to, recruitment, promotions, probation, appraisals, attendance and absence. The Senior HR Officer will build effective and positive working relationships within the Faculty, providing key advice and guidance to staff and managers, ensuring compliance and adherence to UCL policy and procedures.

About you

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent professional experience, with a working and up to date knowledge of UK employment law and policy. They will have demonstrable experience of working in a HR generalist role, ideally in a Higher Education or similarly complex setting. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to listen with empathy and compassion. Proactive and self-motivated, the successful candidate will be able to work with autonomy, effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.

This role is offered on a full-time basis (0.8 FTE will also be considered), fixed-term for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave by the substantive post holder. The role is expected to start in August.
