Introduction
From revolutionising rail infrastructure to gaining a deeper understanding of culture and creativity, research at the University of Southampton addresses a wide range of important societal challenges.
We are seeking an experienced and organised individual to join us in a fixed-term research role. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will contribute to the development and delivery of research activities, including project coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and dissemination. You may also support teaching activities and the School’s internationalisation agenda. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality research, strengthen your academic profile, and further develop your experience and track record for the next stage of your career.
About you
We are seeking an experienced researcher with a strong track record in supporting and developing externally funded research projects. The successful candidate will have experience of contributing to research funding applications, including literature reviews, drafting proposal content, coordinating inputs from partners, and supporting bid development processes.
Applicants should demonstrate expertise in network analysis and/or network ethnography, with a particular interest in digital governance, educational policy, or equitable practice. Knowledge of UK and European research and funding landscapes is essential, together with an understanding of the policy and research context in the UK and at least one European country.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and experience of working collaboratively across institutions and disciplines. Experience of stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and research dissemination is desirable. Knowledge of teacher education or professional learning would be advantageous.
The post would suit an individual seeking to further develop their research profile while contributing to the preparation and delivery of high-quality, internationally focused research initiatives.
