This role is based across all our campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester
An exciting opportunity to join the University as a Junior Cyber Security Engineer within our IT Services department has arisen.
The Junior Cyber Security Engineer role sits within our IT Operations Team and is an entry-level position designed for individuals at the early stage of their IT career. You will work alongside experienced IT and Cyber Security professionals to support the delivery of day-to-day security operations across the University.
The role will support colleagues in monitoring & responding to cyber security incidents, assisting with vulnerability management activities and contributing to cyber security processes, awareness initiatives and compliance requirements. You will also provide first-line IT support to University staff & students for cyber security related queries.
As you will be working directly to support our staff & students, strong customer service skills are essential. The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, problem-solve, and work as part of a team are also required to be a success in the role.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for cyber security and a positive attitude. The role would suit someone at the start of their IT career who has a keen interest in technology with a strong desire to develop their skills and knowledge further.
The role is based across all University locations within Cheltenham & Gloucester.
