The University of Buckingham has a unique atmosphere, unlike that of any other higher educational institution. Despite being one of the UK’s smallest university and the only independent university to hold a Royal Charter, Buckingham has staff from over 60 countries, making it a truly distinctive work environment. Whichever of our locations you find yourself working in, you will be sure to feel a part of our friendly community. Our size enables us to foster a very personalised, supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment, with lots of opportunity for development, something which we are very proud of.
The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.
The University of Buckingham is seeking to recruit a flexible, adaptable and approachable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for the position of Paralegal within the University's Legal Service at our Buckingham campus.
The Legal Service provides legal advice to the University’s faculties and administrative departments directly through its own in-house legal professionals and by engaging and managing external experts, if required.
This is an exciting position within Legal Services. The successful candidate will join a small team lead by the University Solicitor and will provide not only administrative support in a wide range of tasks, making the role interesting and varied.
The Paralegal will provide legal and administrative support to the in-house Legal Services function. The role will assist with matter opening, document management, contract administration, legal research, first-line triage, data protection administration and the maintenance of accurate legal records.
The Paralegal will improve the efficiency of the Legal Services function by ensuring that routine and administrative tasks are managed effectively, allowing the Data Protection Officer and Solicitor to focus on higher-risk advisory work.
