The University now seeks to appoint an exceptional Deputy Dean to help shape the next phase of the School’s development. Reporting to Professor Natalie Armstrong, Executive Dean of the School, the Deputy Dean will play a pivotal leadership role within one of the largest and most comprehensive health and medical sciences schools in London, spanning medicine, nursing and midwifery, allied health professions, psychology and neuroscience, biomedical sciences, optometry, population health and interprofessional healthcare.

The Deputy Dean will support the Executive Dean in providing strategic and operational leadership across the School during a period of continued integration, growth and transformation. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, the successful candidate will help deliver an outstanding student experience, strengthen interdisciplinary research and scholarship, foster an inclusive and high-performing culture, and build impactful partnerships across the NHS, professional bodies and wider external stakeholders.

Candidates will bring substantial senior leadership experience within higher education and a strong academic and professional profile within a relevant discipline. We are seeking a collaborative and credible leader with experience of managing complexity and change within large organisations, alongside a clear commitment to educational excellence, research and innovation, equality and inclusion, and partnership working. The ability to inspire colleagues, lead strategically across a diverse portfolio, and operate effectively within a highly collegiate environment will be essential.

This appointment offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a truly integrated and future-focused School of Health & Medical Sciences at a defining moment in its evolution.
