The post holder will work within the Professional Services Academic Administration Team which is responsible for the administration of student assessment and progression across academic programmes of study.

The role involves maintaining accurate and comprehensive student records, including processing forms, checking and updating data, recording module choices, collating assessment marks and generating reports.

In relation to assessment, the postholder will manage extensions and additional considerations, coordinate the external scrutiny of assessments and student work, and support the delivery of in-class and online tests throughout the teaching period. They will also oversee examination processes, such as the formatting of examination papers.

For progression and award, the postholder will support examination boards by scheduling and servicing module and programme boards, generating board reports and undertaking the necessary data checks. They will complete post-board administration and support the agreement and confirmation of marks.

The role requires the effective use of the University’s student information system, Virtual Learning Environment and associated platforms to monitor student status and progress. In addition, the postholder will respond to student enquiries, providing clear guidance and signposting to academic or professional services as appropriate. Clear and timely communication with students and academic colleagues forms an important part of this work.
