The Faculty of Business & Law at Manchester Metropolitan University is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Tutors with an interest in the disciplines of Strategy, Enterprise and/or Sustainability to join our Department of Strategy, Enterprise & Sustainability for 1 year (2026/27 academic year).

As a Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education and project support that aligns with our University's Road to 2030 strategy. You will contribute to our strategic objectives of 'Excellent Research with Impact' and 'Excellent Education,' supporting our values: student-centred, people-led, future-focused, inclusive, and Manchester Met proud.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning & Teaching

  • Deliver inclusive, engaging teaching using a range of innovative pedagogical approaches, including blended, digital, and active learning methods. Foster critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and constructive debate to support deep learning and the development of students' analytical and professional skills.
  • Deliver appropriate, challenging, and transparent assessments that align with learning outcomes and support student achievement. Provide timely, detailed, and constructive feedback that enables students to reflect on their progress and enhance their academic performance.
  • Provide academic guidance, personal tutoring and pastoral support to students, responding sensitively to individual circumstances and referring students to specialist services where appropriate to promote wellbeing, engagement and success.
  • Engage in reflective practice to enhance the quality of teaching, assessment, and curriculum design. Use student feedback, peer review and performance data to inform continuous improvement and innovation in learning and teaching.

Research & Knowledge Exchange

  • Engage in scholarly activity and maintain up-to-date subject expertise to inform teaching, curriculum development and professional practice.

Administration & Support

  • Contribute to the effective delivery of departmental and faculty objectives by supporting educational projects, initiatives and quality enhancement activities appropriate to the responsibilities of the role. Provide administrative and operational support to academic leadership teams to ensure the successful delivery of programmes and strategic priorities.

Teamworking & Citizenship

  • Work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues across the Faculty and University to achieve shared goals and contribute to a supportive and collegial working environment. Actively participate in programme, partnership, departmental, and faculty activities, contributing to productive working relationships and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to meetings, peer observation activities, and collaborative discussions relating to programme development, student experience and academic quality. Support the enhancement of learning and teaching practice through constructive engagement with colleagues and institutional initiatives.
