Applications are invited for an appointment as Chief Security Officer, Grade Supervisor I, 1.0 FTE, Permanent in Buildings & Estates at University of Galway.
The Chief Security Officer will be responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and delivery of integrated security, threat management, and parking operations across the University’s campuses and associated properties. The post holder will provide expert advice to senior leadership on all matters relating to campus safety, security, and security risks, ensuring a proactive, intelligence-led approach to threat management. Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management and Services, the role will lead and manage all aspects of 24/7/365 security and parking operations, including campus residences, while embedding robust governance, compliance, and continuous improvement frameworks. The post holder will play a key role in safeguarding students, staff, visitors, and University assets, balancing strategic oversight with effective operational delivery in a complex and dynamic academic environment.

Salary: €75,503 - €90,936 per annum pro rata for part time/short term roles (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the QA321 University’s Remuneration & Payroll Policy.
This appointment will be made on the Supervisor I pay scale in line with current Government pay policy.
A psychometric test will form part of the interview assessment.
