University of Galway is seeking to recruit a Director of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to provide strategic leadership for the University’s digital infrastructure and services.
This pivotal role will drive innovation and support various transformation initiatives in support of the University Strategic Plan (https://www.universityofgalway.ie/strategy2030/). Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Director will have a central role in delivering high performing technology to support excellence in teaching and learning, research and professional administrative services. They will be responsible for leading the Information Solutions & Services (ISS) team of skilled IT professionals will be responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of the University’s digital strategy, and the ISS operating model, which will deliver secure, resilient, and future-focused ICT systems across the University.
Based on the main University campus in Galway, with responsibility across all university locations and associated entities, the Director will be an effective, visible and inspirational leader with an extensive track record of innovation and success in delivering strategic transformative IT projects in the higher education sector, or in large, complex, knowledge-based organisations.

Salary: €147,198 - €186,094 applicable to new entrants effective from January 2011) and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the QA321 University’s Remuneration & Payroll Policy. This appointment will be made on the Secretary pay scale in line with current Government pay policy.
