We have an opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the History of Education in Glasgow Project, working with Professors Kristinn Hermannsson, Kay Livingston and Margery McMahon. The purpose of the project is to capture and document the key milestones in the evolution of various educational institutions in Glasgow (from the 1940s onward), including but not limited to the University of Glasgow.
The project aims to capture the accounts of people for whom this history was a reality to preserve the rich history of education in Glasgow. Both successful and less successful educational initiatives will be recorded and assessed so that lessons might be drawn from them. The project will start in 2026 and conclude in 2028. It will produce an edited publication on the history of education in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will be expected to help manage and coordinate this important project and contribute to the development, reviewing, editing and submission of the publication on the history of education in Glasgow.
