The School of the Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a Senior Operations Support Manager to join a dynamic team supporting Faculties, Departments and School-wide initiatives.
The Role
This is a unique and varied role combining senior operational leadership with project, analytical and operational support activities across the School.
The post holder will provide flexible senior management support to Faculties, Departments and other School institutions, undertaking short-term operational leadership assignments and supporting the effective delivery of teaching, research and professional services activities. Working closely with Heads of Institution and senior colleagues, the role includes responsibility for governance, finance, personnel, research administration, teaching operations, facilities and strategic planning.
The role also contributes to School-wide priorities through the Operational Support Team, leading projects, service improvements and analytical activities. This includes analysing complex information and datasets, producing reports, dashboards and business cases, and providing evidence-based insights to support decision-making, governance and operational effectiveness.
About You
Educated to degree level, or with an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience, you will bring substantial experience of senior administration and operational management within a complex environment.
You will have a proven track record of leading staff, managing resources and budgets, supporting governance and decision-making, and building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
You will also have experience of analysing and interpreting information to support decision-making, together with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience of reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms.
Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading academic institution, working at the heart of a vibrant and intellectually stimulating School.
The role offers exceptional professional development opportunities through exposure to a wide range of operational, strategic and leadership challenges across the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
