We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant/Associate to join the School of Infection and Immunity at the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) and contribute/make a leading contribution to a BBSRC-funded research programme entitled “Harnessing the cellular innate immune system by manipulating a mRNA-specific translation regulatory mechanism”.
Working with Professor Alfredo Castello and collaborators, the successful candidate will investigate how GIGYF1/2- and 4EHP-mediated translational control shapes innate immune responses to viral infection and genotoxic stress, and how these pathways may be manipulated for antiviral and immunomodulatory applications.
The role will involve applying molecular and cellular approaches, including RNA interactome capture and complementary proteome-wide methods, to define dynamic protein-RNA interactions, translational regulation, and immune signalling pathways.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and has funding available for up to 12 months.
For enquiries regarding this post please contact Professor Alfredo Castello, Alfredo.Castello@glasgow.ac.uk
