The Architectural Engineering programme at Heriot-Watt University Dubai is a distinctive, professionally accredited undergraduate degree that combines engineering principles with architectural design to develop expertise in building performance, sustainability, energy use, carbon emissions, and building systems. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Energy Institute (EI) and has a strong emphasis on global and industry engagement.
The School is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor to join the Architectural Engineering programme at the Dubai campus while collaborating across Heriot-Watt University's global academic network. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, research-informed teaching within a global multi-campus environment. The successful candidate will adopt a student-centred approach to teaching and curriculum design and will be encouraged to innovate.
Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Candidates must have previous teaching experience, a strong commitment to the student experience, excellent teamwork and communication skills, an internationally recognised honours degree in Engineering, and a PhD in Sustainability, Energy, Low-Carbon Buildings, or a related discipline. Professional accreditation with CIBSE or another relevant UK Engineering Council body is desirable.
