Birmingham Newman University is looking to appoint a solution-focused individual to lead the Technical and Digital Team of our successful and highly regarded library service. This post also serves as a key member of our Library’s Leadership Team and is a great opportunity to move into a wide-ranging and strategic role.

As Assistant Director of Library Services (Technical & Digital) you will lead on all aspects of the Library’s technical and infrastructure services, focusing on library systems, acquisitions, procurement, scanning and digitisation, together with Library administration and the University’s research repository.
As a member of the Library Leadership Team you will also play a key role in strategic planning and development of the whole library service.
To succeed in this role, you must have a professional qualification or extensive professional experience in information management together with experience of managerial leadership. You will be able to provide leadership and direction on the issues, technologies and strategies that affect the team activities, you will also be an effective negotiator, a successful project manager, adept at handling data and committed to working positively with both students and colleagues across the university.
