Would you like the opportunity to play a key role in the planning and delivery of nursing provision within the School of Nursing & Allied Health at Birmingham Newman University? If so, we are seeking motivated and knowledgeable mental health nurse academics, or experienced clinicians aspiring to academia, who are passionate about the future of the profession.
In this role, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching, support clinical skills development, assess student learning, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our curriculum. You will also provide academic and pastoral support to students, helping them to thrive in both academic study and practice placements.
You will provide academic leadership within programmes, lead curriculum development initiatives, mentor colleagues, and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of mental health nursing education within the School.
Candidates should have up‑to‑date knowledge of mental health nursing and be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where diversity is celebrated, and all students are supported to succeed. Applicants will need to hold a minimum of BSc (Hons) and current NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse and either have a recognised teaching qualification or HEA fellowship or be willing to work towards one, supported by the University.
