Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including early patient clinical contact in years 1 & 2, Team-Based Learning (TBL) and programmatic assessment. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.
We are recruiting a Senior Lecturer post, permanent basis. The Senior Lecturer will be expected to fulfil the role of Course Director MBBS.
The postholder will be a senior academic and will have experience of educational leadership and a track record of high quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role. Ideally, they will have experience of undergraduate teaching with a wide range of educational experience and skills.
The postholder will be a key member of the senior leadership team led by the Dean. They will have responsibility for the oversight of all 5 years of the program, including operational management, design, delivery, quality management and enhancement. There is an expectation that a full curriculum review will take place, in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will also contribute to other areas of medical education, such as Team Based Learning (TBL), the personal tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviewing and OSCE examining. They will also participate in the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process. Duties may vary, and leadership roles may rotate depending on requirements of the programme.
