About the Role
Based at Barts Cancer Institute, the post holder will contribute to postgraduate education and scholarship in Cancer Sciences, supporting the development of future cancer researchers. The role offers the opportunity to deliver research-informed teaching, enhance student experience, contribute to pedagogical scholarship, and develop academic leadership within a world-leading cancer research environment.
About You
You will be a committed educationalist with expertise in Cancer Sciences and a strong interest in research-informed education at Level 7. You will bring experience in teaching, assessment, and curriculum development; excellent communication and organisational skills; and a commitment to student support, inclusive practice, scholarship, and public engagement.
About the Institute
The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD). BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research, and it combines groundbreaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician-scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to improve cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute), which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics. BCI is committed to supporting and developing future cancer researchers through extensive postgraduate training.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of September 2026. The starting salary will be Grade 5 through 6 (Lecturer) / Grade 7 (Senior Lecturer), in the range of £51,755 - £71,834 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
