Homerton College was founded in the 18th Century, moved to its current location in 1894 and was granted a Royal Charter as a self-governing College of the University of Cambridge in 2010. Located within easy reach of the historic city centre, and within easy access to Cambridge mainline station, the College has over 1,000 students and a Fellowship of about 70.

About the role:
Homerton College is seeking a Finance Administrator to join our dynamic Finance team. This varied role will support the day-to-day financial operations of the College, including processing expense claims, preparing expenditure for payment, and posting bank payments and receipts to the finance system. You will also reconcile transactions from multiple on-site card machines, ensuring monthly financial records are accurate and all expenditure is correctly accounted for.
The post holder will take card payments over the phone processing them through the Finance PDQ machine. As well as, managing card top-ups and issuing new cards through the Epos system.
Previous experience working in a College environment would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience of using Sage Intacct, or a similar finance system, would also be desirable.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, together with good data entry skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking a proactive approach to problem solving and using your own initiative where appropriate. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet deadlines in a busy environment, are essential.
