About the role:
The University is looking to appoint a Student Fees and Funding Manager to support the work of the Student Fees and Funding Team around student loans (SFE/SLC) US Loans, Lifelong Learning Entitlement, fees and finances planning and delivery, training, bursaries and scholarships, new policies, processes and sector changes.
You will manage the delivery of US and Canadian Loan returns. Delivering excellent, professional services to all stakeholders by ensuring the operation of efficient and effective processes, deploying the use of IT systems and digital technologies in response to ongoing feedback and business needs.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience or a working knowledge of the US loans system, or equivalent experience with Student Finance. An understanding of the needs of international students is essential, as the University is committed to providing the highest level of support to all.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering excellent, modern, and professional services to all stakeholders, including providing online assistance and guidance to students throughout the loan application process.
In addition, the successful candidate will coordinate audit activity associated with US loans processes and must be able to demonstrate experience in managing external returns and audits.
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area or possess equivalent experiential learning. Experience of working within a Higher or Further Education environment is desirable. Candidates must also be confident in using a range of IT systems and be able to quickly learn new technologies, ensuring the University remains responsive to the evolving requirements of the sector.
The ability to prioritise a busy workload and manage multiple tasks is essential. Applicants must be flexible, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Experience in minute taking and maintaining accurate database records is also required.
