Full-Time, Fixed-Term until 31 October 2026.

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position at the Department of Psychology on the Leverhulme Trust funded project: “How does poor sleep in adolescents impact learning and education?”. The position is for approximately three months, starting on 20 July 2026 or soon thereafter and ending on 31 October 2026. 

The project involves tracking sleep patterns in secondary school children and measuring their ability to learn and consolidate new memories throughout the project. Educational measures and standardised cognitive measures were also collected. A mobile phone app supported adolescents in improving their sleep habits and the app was tested on a large cohort of adolescents. The primary duties will include: processing, analysing, and archiving data from the aforementioned research activities, and disseminating findings through journal articles and other methods.

Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in psychology or closely related discipline and should have excellent quantitative research skills. Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and computing skills are also essential.
