Spanning thousands of years of human thought and discovery, Cambridge University Libraries and Archives (CULA) house unique treasures and research materials made up of nearly ten million books, maps, manuscripts, photographs and priceless objects.

The role

Our HR team are looking for a motivated, detail-orientated, and organised HR Coordinator to join us on a 12-month basis. This opportunity will provide exposure to a wide range of HR-related duties for 450+ colleagues across 30+ sites.

You will work alongside our HR & Recruitment Administrator in supporting CULA colleagues through the entire employee lifecycle, and work closely with our HR Manager and HR Business Partner in the delivery of key projects and initiatives.

As a HR Coordinator you will

  • Have a keen eye for detail; ensure process steps are followed accurately and within set timelines.
  • Coordinate our shared HR inboxes; organise and prioritise queries, escalating to the appropriate team member(s) as needed.
  • Provide data and insights into key HR-related topics such as appraisals, probation, and training.
  • Provide guidance to CULA colleagues around HR policies and process, with a particular focus on recruitment and absence management.
  • Oversee the administration of arranging visitors and volunteers at CULA.
  • Support the HR Manager and HR Business Partner in developing and delivering HR projects.
  • Carry out general administration relating to HR processes, using our HR systems and local databases.

  • Experience of working in an environment which requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An organised approach, with the ability to manage and prioritise competing demands.
  • A diligent service-oriented focus, maintaining a high standard of HR support across CULA.
  • An ability to communicate effectively across all levels, with experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • An interest in continuous improvement, supporting improvements to our processes and services.
  • Experience in collating and presenting data.
