Contract Type: Fixed Term contract up to August 2027 

Are you passionate about bringing patient and public voices to the heart of health and care research? We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Patient and Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) Manager to play a pivotal role within the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).

Working at the forefront of translational research, you’ll help shape how patients, carers and communities influence cutting-edge work tackling major conditions such as cancer, liver disease and arthritis. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate across universities, NHS organisations and diverse communities to ensure research truly reflects the needs of the population it serves.

What you’ll do

  • Support the delivery of an ambitious PPIE strategy across multiple research themes
  • Build strong partnerships with patients, community groups and stakeholders
  • Support and mentor researchers to embed meaningful public involvement in their work
  • Design and deliver engaging events, communications and training
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities
  • Drive innovation and share best practice across regional and national networks
