Background of department/role
Join the Internationally renowned Salomons Institute in Applied Psychology by providing excellent teaching and research supervision Doctorate for trainees on our highly regarded Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy).
The Salomons Institute is based in the centre of Tunbridge Wells, 10 minutes’ walk from the station and enjoys excellent administrative, IT and library support. The DClinPsy Programme has a solid value base that aligns with the NHS values, HCPC and BPS codes of professional conduct, and has an inclusive stance.
As a Clinical and Academic Tutor (CAAT), you will be a qualified and HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist with strong clinical experience, sound research skills, and awareness of issues across clinical specialities. Desirable requirements include a qualification or accreditation in a specialist psychological approach (e.g. CBT, AFT, EMDR).
This role contributes to the development and delivery of the DClinPsy programme, with responsibilities including teaching, academic and research support. This role also includes placement development, and the pastoral and professional support of a designated group of trainees.
You will bring experience of supervision and teaching, and a commitment to supporting trainee development, collaborative working, and the course’s expressed values.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is flexible and connected. Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.
It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus and most likely to be on a Thursday and Friday when most teaching and trainee engagement takes place.
