The Institute of Infection, Immunity and Transplantation (IIIT) at UCL is seeking an enthusiastic immunologist to join its academic community as a Lecturer (Teaching). This fixed-term role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contribute to curriculum development, and support student success. Based at UCL’s Hampstead Campus, the Institute is a leading centre for immunology research and education, with expertise spanning areas such as cancer immunology, immunotherapeutics, cellular immunology and computational immunology.

About the role
This fixed-term post has been created to support growing student demand and expand teaching capacity across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The postholder will contribute to teaching, curriculum development and student support, bringing expertise in areas such as computational immunology, cancer immunology, immunotherapeutics or cellular immunology. Key responsibilities include Deputy Programme Lead duties for a postgraduate taught programme, delivering and assessing high-quality teaching, providing academic and pastoral support to students, and contributing to the ongoing development of research-led curricula.
The post is funded for an initial period of four years.
About you
We are seeking a passionate immunologist with a PhD (or equivalent) in immunology or a related discipline, postdoctoral research experience, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.
The successful candidate will have expertise in immunology, experience of teaching in higher education, and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively. Experience in cancer immunology, immunotherapy or computational immunology is desirable.
The role involves delivering and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supporting curriculum development, and contributing to innovative, research-led education.
