We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Lecturer in Mechatronics.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape multidisciplinary mechatronics education. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the design, development and integration of intelligent mechatronic systems, combining mechanics, electronics, sensing, actuation, embedded systems, control, instrumentation and hardware–software integration. We would especially welcome applicants who can strengthen our capability in artificial intelligence and machine learning for mechatronics engineering, including intelligent automation, computer vision, data-driven control, industrial data analytics, digital twins and autonomous systems.
Candidates should also have strong hands-on experimental skills and be able to design, develop and deliver practical laboratory activities involving mechatronic hardware, embedded platforms, sensors, actuators, control systems and system integration.
We are seeking candidates with relevant industry-recognised training or professional certifications in areas such as industrial automation, robotics, PLC programming, HMI systems, and engineering design. Certifications or certified training from manufacturers and providers such as ABB, KUKA, Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Eplan, and SOLIDWORKS would be an advantage.
About you
Candidates should have, or be near completion of, a postgraduate qualification in Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, and or Control Systems or a related discipline. If from a professional practice/industry background, successful applicants will have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with relevant professional experience within the Robotics and Digital Twins sector.
A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education are advantageous.
