The University is seeking applicants with an interest in building systems to join a team of existing Estates professionals in delivering outstanding maintenance; building alterations; and improvement projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting our engineers deliver exciting projects and maintenance (such as our carbon commitments available here)
The University has a diverse mix of buildings, of various ages and this role will play a key role in supporting the development of the Estate by improving performance of our existing installations.
No day will be the same with this role, the varying nature of our installations and systems will be an exciting challenge. There is huge opportunity to be involved and assist with the development of the asset lifecycle programme
About you
The University is seeking applicants with experience in either hardware or software elements. Knowledge gaps will be addressed through shadowing of the existing engineers.
Experience of monitoring systems; fault finding and progressing resolutions. On some occasions it may be necessary to prepare process maps or mark-ups for external contractors or internal stakeholders.
Due to the nature of Estates activities you’ll be required to occasionally attend construction sites, plant areas, or other campuses. So, please ensure you will be able to manage these conflicting demands and have experience in managing time efficiently.
The engineers and this post are responsible for infrastructure within various areas including: Security Systems (Access Control; CCTV; Intruder); Fire Alarm Systems, IT/Telephony Infrastructure and BMS (HVAC Monitoring)

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus however, there could be activities as part of this role at any of our Campuses.
