Would you like to help turn strategy into meaningful action? Can you bring people with you through change? Are you motivated by helping organisations improve, while ensuring change is adopted and sustained?
The University of East Anglia is seeking an Associate Director, Change and Improvement to join our Strategic Programmes and Change division. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to work across the University, supporting strategic delivery, sustainable improvement and people-centred change.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Programmes and Change, you will guide UEA’s strategic change management function. You will also support the development of our business improvement activity, helping the University focus effort where it can make the greatest difference.
You will work closely with senior leaders, academic faculties, professional services and colleagues across Strategic Programmes and Change. Together, you will help translate strategic priorities into clear delivery plans, with effective governance, visible progress and measurable outcomes.
A recognised change management qualification, or equivalent experience using recognised change approaches, is essential. Experience of business improvement, continuous improvement, project or programme management, and/or working in higher education would be an advantage.
This full-time post is available from 3 August 2026 on an indefinite basis.
UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.
Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days (pro rata for part-time), can be found on our benefits page.
Closing date: 27 July 2026
The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality.
