The Division of Media, Communication and Performing Arts (MCPA) seeks to appoint a lecturer to share the teaching of Acting for Screen and Digital Media.

QMU has a long track record of delivering industry-relevant Media, Marketing and Arts degrees. You would be joining an established team of 3.

You would contribute to the delivery of modules across the Acting and Performance programme predominantly screen performance work.

The successful lecturer candidate will combine academic knowledge with up-to-date industry-relevant skills in the broad area of screen and digital media.

Applicants should hold significant professional experience and ideally a degree or postgraduate degree in the relevant subject area.

While applicants would require understanding of the wider field of actor training they would be expected to provide the Division with specific knowledge and expertise teaching acting both in front of and behind the camera and the field of digital media to undergraduate students.

Specific modules that the postholder may contribute to include:

  • L3 Advanced Acting for Screen and Media
  • L4 Digital Performance
  • L1 and L2 Foundation Screen Acting Skills

The Division of Media, Communication and Performing Arts offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Graphic Design, Film, Media, Digital Marketing and Public Relations Content Creation, Drama, Arts Management, Acting, Costume, Strategic and Political Communications. The Division also has several successful collaborations with other organisations delivering QMU validated degree programmes. Staff within the Division submitted to REF 2021. If the post-holder has a track record of relevant research outputs and wishes to be appointed on a Teaching and Research contract, then they will be able to join the Research and Knowledge Exchange Centre for Culture in Society.
