Role
As a Senior Lecturer, you will lead innovative research proposals, secure external funding, and publish high-impact work in quality journals to expand our research activities. You will deliver and oversee critical, innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules, specifically focusing on spatial modelling, GIS, and quantitative and statistical research skills as well as supporting the delivery of our fieldtrips.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed

  • Qualifications: A PhD in Spatial Analysis, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), alongside appropriate academic professional/teaching qualifications (or a willingness to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice).
  • Knowledge & Experience: In-depth knowledge of spatial and statistical analysis with an extensive track record of HE teaching, course design, and high-quality journal publications. You possess specific research expertise to complement our strategy and guide undergraduate, postgraduate, and research staff.
  • Research Excellence: A track record of contributing to publicly-evidenced, high-quality research, with the ability to develop innovative research proposals and secure external funding.
  • Teaching & Supervision: Ability to plan, design, and deliver teaching and assessment materials across a range of modules, as well as the ability to supervise MSc/PhD students and research staff.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly-developed communication, analytical, and IT skills, with a collaborative ethos and a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
