Based at City Campus, Gloucester.
At the University of Gloucestershire, we are proud to be shaping the future of higher education across the region. As we continue to invest in innovative learning environments that help create excellent student experiences and future outcomes, we eagerly await the 2027 opening of the brand new Three Counties Dental School. This purpose‑built facility represents a major investment in dental education for the region that will provide exceptional clinical teaching spaces, simulation suites, and patient facing learning environments.
We are now seeking an ambitious and inspirational Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist to join our team and lead the development of our first BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene course.
This exciting role offers a rare opportunity to shape, develop, and deliver innovative dental care education as part of the School’s growing portfolio. As our inaugural Senior Lecturer in Dental Hygiene, you will play a leading role in designing and launching our new BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene programme. Working closely with senior colleagues, healthcare partners and the Deputy Head of School, you will help build the programme from the ground up, shaping the curriculum, partnerships, clinical learning opportunities and the student experience.
You will be uniquely placed to contribute to the ongoing development of the Three Counties Dental School, supporting its vision as a transformative centre of excellence in dental education that will equip students with the specialist skills required for their future careers, while helping address a recognised regional workforce shortage in dental care professions.
To recognise the significant leadership responsibilities associated with establishing this new provision, the successful candidate will receive a temporary leadership supplement for the first 12 months whilst undertaking the role of Dental Hygiene Clinical Education Development Lead.
Following the establishment phase, the role will transition into a substantive Senior Lecturer position focused on programme leadership, teaching excellence, clinical education and the continued growth of the Three Counties Dental School.
