Engineering Manager and Commercial Lead

The WiSAR Lab focuses on the research, development and implementation of technological solutions for the internet of things technology stack, working with companies across many sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, renewables and medical industries.

This position is co-funded by the WiSAR Technology Gateway and the European Digital Innovation Hub, Data2sustain.  Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed-term position as a Commercial Lead in the WiSAR Technology Gateway.  The candidate will be the Test Before Invest work package lead for Data2sustain and will be responsible for the delivery of software innovation services for SMEs.  The position requires technical leadership and supervision of a group of ATU software research engineers

Essential Qualifications

• A Level 8 Batchelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• A minimum of 5 years working in industry including a technical management role in software /ICT product development and project management
• A minimum of 5 years business development experience in an academic or industry setting, with demonstrated ability to manage client engagements across the full project lifecycle from initial qualification, technical consultancy through to delivery
• Experience using digital maturity assessment or equivalent structured diagnostic frameworks to identify SME technology adoption needs
• Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting technical proposals or innovation project scopes to industry stakeholders
