About the Role
This role sits within the Academic Development & Standards Team and provides administrative support for the College’s education development activities. The post holder will help coordinate and deliver work across Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Joint Specialty Fellowships (JSF), accreditation, educational consultancy, webinars, the iLearn platform and the SERI Lab.
Responsibilities include maintaining records, responding to enquiries, issuing certificates, arranging meetings, supporting webinars, collating evaluation data, booking travel and assisting with finance administration, including draft invoices, payment processing, credit card reconciliation and debtor information.
The post holder will work closely with colleagues across Education Development, JSF and eLearning, as well as members, customers, faculty, reviewers and external stakeholders. The role requires excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload, including time-critical tasks. Occasional evening work and travel may be required to support education activities.
Experience, Qualifications and Key Skills
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, methodical and confident in providing administrative support within a busy team.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, including GCSE English at Grade C or above (or equivalent experience), together with proven administrative and organisational skills. Experience of working with databases and maintaining accurate records is essential.
Strong written communication skills are important, with experience of taking accurate minutes, drafting documents, collating evaluation data and supporting academic or educational processes. The successful candidate will be able to review information carefully and produce work to a high standard.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as the role involves working with colleagues, members, customers and external stakeholders. Applicants should be confident using Microsoft Office, able to prioritise their workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience of supporting meetings, preparing reports, or working in an academic, educational or healthcare environment would be advantageous, along with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving administrative processes.
