This post is part time (24.5 hours per week) and is fixed term for 6 months.
The History subject in the College of Arts and Humanities is seeking to appoint a fixed-term University Lecturer in History and War Studies, who will provide engaging and high-recruiting teaching on modern military history in the 20th century.
The post-holder will contribute teaching to the Level 4 Special Subject, "The First World War, 1911-1923" (HIST4293), and to History’s semester 1 course, ‘Intelligence Analysis and Policymaking’, on the Erasmus Mundus International Masters in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS), which recruits between 45 and 80 students annually (for further details see: www.gla.ac.uk/postgraduate/taught/internationalsecurity).
The post-holder will also be expected to contributed teaching to the core course on History’s MSc programme in War Studies, taught from within the Scottish Centre for War Studies and Conflict Archaeology (for further details see: www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/warstudies).
The post-holder may also supervise UG/PG dissertations and other assessed work, by agreement with the Head of Subject.
