About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to develop their career in a busy and dynamic teaching environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and detail-oriented individual with relevant administrative experience, ideally within an education setting, to provide high-quality support to the Student Office team in the Department of Materials.
Based in the Student Office, the Student Office Administrator plays a key role in the efficient administration of all taught programmes within the Department. The post-holder is responsible for the administration of coursework management, work placements, the Year in Industry programme, student exchange programmes, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP), Erasmus+ activities, and other occasional student arrangements.
Working closely with the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Senior Tutors, the Admissions Tutor and the MSc Course Director, the post-holder will contribute to the smooth delivery of teaching administration and help ensure an excellent experience for all students.
What you would be doing:
Coursework Management
Work proactively with the Senior Tutor and Course Directors to support the effective administration of coursework submission and marking processes, including setting up and monitoring coursework assignments in Canvas and producing reports for the Senior Tutor and other stakeholders as required.
Student Support/Exams
Providing a comprehensive committee servicing function for Staff–Student Committee meetings, including coordinating meeting arrangements, assisting with the preparation and distribution of agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes, and following up on actions arising from meetings.
Work Placements/ Year in Industry/Exchange Programmes
Overseeing and maintaining accurate records for students undertaking work placements and the Year in Industry programme, including maintaining up-to-date student lists, company and placement provider details, risk assessments, placement information forms, and organising student presentation days.
