Senior Lecturer Clinical Trials

The Role 

We are pleased to announce a Senior Lecturer role based within the Newcastle Biostatistics Research Group (BRG). This is a permanent, core-funded academic position that represents an exciting opportunity to play a major role in shaping one of the UK's leading academic groups in clinical trials statistics. The successful applicant will provide leadership across a growing portfolio of applied clinical trials, develop an internationally recognised programme of research, and contribute strategically to the future direction of the Newcastle Biostatistics Research Group.

Specifically, this post-holder will collaborate on new and existing clinical trials projects led by teams within and beyond the Faculty, being fully involved in the design, funding, conduct and analysis of the work. This includes leadership and supervision of research staff and postgraduate researchers. They will also develop their own research on clinical trials methodology and contribute to and contribute to the BRG’s operational group for clinical trials.

We’re looking for an individual that has a track record in clinical trials research, statistical teaching and potential to play a strategic leadership role within the group. For research, they will have an impressive portfolio of research outputs, evidence of applying your research in practice, and a successful track record of funding. They will also have some experience in line managing individuals and PhD supervision. The ideal candidate will have an ambitious vision for growing their own research and teaching area within the BRG. They should be eager to lead the application of advanced methods in clinical trials, work well with others, and proactively contribute to developing our positive research culture.

The post-holder will be based in our offices on the University main campus, with the option to work remotely for up to half the week, in alignment with Newcastle University's blended working policies.
