The School of Architecture and Environment wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Building Services and Controls Engineering to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the school. Applicants wishing to consider full-time or part-time role will be considered.

The principal requirement of the role will be to engage with the design and delivery of teaching activities within the School, primarily in undergraduate and postgraduate architectural programmes relating to architecture, environmental engineering, construction and building technology.

Suitable applicants for this post will be able to demonstrate expertise in the design and construction of large scale construction projects in the UK context, and the related commissioning of building services and controls engineering.

Specialist knowledge in areas such as BMS system, HVAC control systems, lighting control systems and water distribution systems.

About you

You are an experienced professional or academic with a passion for building services and controls engineering. Whether joining us from industry or high-level research, you hold a PhD or a Master’s degree alongside substantial practice in UK large-scale construction.

You possess deep technical knowledge of BMS, HVAC, and lighting control systems, coupled with a commitment to sustainable development. An inspiring communicator, you excel at translating complex engineering and building physics concepts into engaging learning experiences, whether in a lecture hall, lab, or studio.

If you don’t already hold an HEA Fellowship or PG Certificate in Higher Education, you are eager to achieve this within your first two years, embodying UWE Bristol’s values of inclusivity and academic excellence.
