The Department of Architecture are inviting applications for a part time (0.5FTE) Teaching Associate Professional Practice. This role is to provide temporary cover until 30 September 2027.
The purpose of the role is to teach Management Practice and Law to the third-year undergraduate students in Architecture and Design within the Department in the Michaelmas Term. The Teaching Associate will also teach and coordinate the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice in Architecture ARB/ RIBA Part 3, which is run in conjunction with Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) and the MSt Apprenticeship in Architecture, with the relevant modules being taught in Lent and Easter Terms. They will also coordinate the Part 3 examinations in September.
The role holder will manage and select Professional Studies Advisors (PSA) and assign these to graduating students.
In addition to working directly with the students, the Teaching Associate will be a valued member of the community within the department, attending relevant meetings and staff development events, undertaking training and administrative duties as relevant to teaching responsibilities and projects, contributing to planning of outreach courses, policy making, accreditation and course development. Through this service to the department and wider University they, along with all colleagues, will promote collegiality and engender a culture of mutual respect.
