The role

The post will be based in the Department of Sociology, a lively and collegiate department with a strong emphasis on both teaching and research. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong research background (i.e. publishing, applying for/achieving funding), as well as document evidence of teaching in areas of criminology, including specialisms within digital crime. The post will also involve supervising dissertations, supervising placement students, and contributing to the pastoral care of students. In addition, you will be expected to assume an administrative role within the department. Further details of the role can be found in the accompanying application details. 

About you

We are looking for candidates with a relevant doctoral degree awarded, with a strong research and teaching background. Evidence of publishing high-quality publications and delivering teaching (ideally with relevance to criminology, specifically digital crime) are key criteria for candidates to demonstrate. 

You must be able and willing to teach modules across the Department (in both Criminology and Sociology) and undertake key student support and relevant pastoral duties as well as other administrative duties.

Please note that these roles will be offered at either Lecturer A or Lecturer B depending on your experience (see job profile below for further details). The salary range for a Lecturer A (Research and Teaching) starts at £42,254 and Lecturer B starts at £47,389.
