Background

We are seeking to appoint one outstanding new Lecturer in Psychology with expertise in Cognitive Neuropsychology. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with expertise in neuropsychological research that complement our research environment. We are a thriving, research intensive dep artment, conducting world class research across many areas of psychology, including (but not limited to) brain and cognition, mental health and wellbeing, neuroscience, organisational psychology, social psychology, family psychology and typical and atypical development. Investment in recruiting researchers with established, recognised expertise over recent years has allowed the Department to expand substantially, fostering a dynamic environment for research and learning.

Responsibilities

The post holder will primarily contribute to teaching on our undergraduate programmes in Psychology , as well as potentially teaching on our postgraduate programmes, such as the MSc Clinical Social and Cognitive Neuroscience or MSc Conversion Programme. Responsibilities will include module leadership, acting as a personal tutor, supervising dissertations, designing and marking coursework assessments, contributing to departmental administrative duties, and engaging in team, depa rtmental, and student events and meetings. The post holder will furthermore be expected to contribute to research activities in line with the University’s Research Strategy, including dissemination and income generation.

Person Specification

The candidate should be able to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in areas of Psychology that are tailored to diverse student needs and informed by research, innovative pedagogy and scholarship, as demonstrated through engagement with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and supporting learning in Higher Education. Candidates must have an honours degree in a related discipline and PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Candidates must also have a strong publication track record and demonstrated experience in securing research funding, preferable in the area of Cognitive Neuropsychology.
