This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.

Are you looking for an exciting postdoc position working in neuromodulation or cognitive neuroscience? Do you have a PhD using transcranial magnetic stimulation, EEG or similar methods? Are you interested in how innovative brain stimulation strategies can be developed to safely treat common conditions? 

The Brain and Behaviour Laboratory in the School of Psychology at the University of Leeds is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The 6-month position will contribute to a project funded by Cambridge Neuroworks. You will work with Professor Melanie Burke, Dr Stephen Halpin (School of Medicine) and Dr James McLaughlan (School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) on the project Priming plasticity for scalable pain neuromodulation. 

To be considered for the role, you will have completed, or almost completed a PhD in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related discipline involving human neurophysiology, brain stimulation, or experimental pain research. You will have experience with quantitative research methods, experimental techniques including EEG, and relevant software for analysis. Additionally, you may have experience of using conducting experimental protocols in non-invasive brain stimulation and an interest in neuromodulation for pain. You will have the ability to independently conduct a research protocol, including communicating professionally and sensitively with participants. You will be able to plan, organise, and prioritise your own workload, and meet deadlines. You will be able to work within a team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences.
