Senior Research Assistant

Applications are invited for a full-time Senior Research Assistant to take responsibility for data collection on a project investigating spoken language production in children aged 2 - 5 years.

The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Psychology (Centre for Neuroscience in Education) and will be joining a team headed by Professor Usha Goswami (see: http://www.cne.psychol.cam.ac.uk/). The position is available from 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Applicants should have a degree in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics or a related discipline. Experience of behavioural testing with toddlers and pre-schoolers is essential, as are good organisational skills.

Experience of working with linguistic tasks and of data management is also essential. Experience of working in the MATLAB environment would be an advantage. Applicants will have primary responsibility for preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and will carry out in-person data collection.

Applicants will coordinate workload and testing schedules across the project team, and will analyse and interpret the results of the research.

Excellent organisational and communication skills are required, as is prior experience of autonomous working.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
