We are currently looking for a Social Sciences Teacher to join OnCampus Ireland, Maynooth. The role will be on a Part-time, fixed term till August 2027.

The Social sciences Teacher is required to:

With appropriate qualifications, teaching experience and academic skills in a higher education context, the successful applicant will contribute to the teaching and learning of students within OnCampus Ireland, Maynooth. with the ultimate goal of securing success for all students, to Achieve More, progressing onto their chosen degree course at the Higher Education/University partner. The following outline of roles and responsibilities may be adjusted according to the needs of the centre and time of the year.

The appointed candidate will teach and assess the required modules on the programme; participate in all College boards and committees as requested and support students in their learning journey at the college. Successful applicants will have the ability to teach students from a variety of countries and cultural backgrounds of different language levels.

Person Specification

Education

  • Degree qualified at NFQ level 8 minimum (essential).
  • Recognised TEFL certification (CELTA, Trinity TESOL or QQI Certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL) - NFQ Level 7 (Special Purpose Award).

Experience

  • Teaching experience – 3 years minimum (essential).
  • Experience in teaching, assessment and learning support (essential).
  • Experience and expertise in programme development (essential)

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including native speaker fluency in English (essential).
  • Competence in the effective use of Information Communications Technologies (ICT) (essential).
  • Planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within the curriculum objectives (essential).
