Oxford Lifelong Learning in the Department for Continuing Education is seeking to appoint an HR Administrator to work within our HR team, specifically focused on the administration and management of our casual tutors.

About the role

The HR Administrator works within the HR Casuals team and is responsible for undertaking the day-to-day administration of a departmental HR casual worker function, reporting to the HR Manager for the casuals team. The role encompasses all aspects of the casual worker life cycle, from advertising a vacancy for a casual role through to offboarding following the end of an engagement. There is a particular focus on the payroll cycle, with the role holder expected to take ownership of payroll administration on the University’s HR system, PeopleXD. This includes onboarding and offboarding casual workers, tutors and student ambassadors in line with departmental processes and liaising with the Finance team to ensure records are accurate and correct.

This is a full-time position, available on a permanent basis but secondments for internal applicants would also be considered. There will be an expectation of working at least two days on-site at our central Oxford office. Hybrid working for three days is available.

About you

You will have experience of working in an HR team supporting the contracting of colleagues, and will be able to work independently as well as contributing to the wider team. You should be educated to A level standard or have equivalent work-related experience.

You should have a working knowledge of employment law and be fully aware of the importance of data protection and information security guidelines.

You should have excellent communications skills with an ability to communicate procedures and processes verbally and in writing.  You will be able to manage and prioritise your workloads effectively and produce work within required deadlines.
