Main duties and responsibilities

Faculty / Directorate – Registry Services 

Registry Services provides student administration, compliance and operational support from enrolment to graduation. 

The Role 

This internal secondment or temporary opportunity sits within the Student Fees & Funding Team and provides continuity while a colleague supports the University’s Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) implementation. 

As Student Fees & Finance Officer, you will support student finance and tuition fee administration, working across Registry Services, Admissions, Student Records, Finance and Student Services on student funding, tuition fees and SLC processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

Administer Student Loans Company (SLC) processes, including registrations, attendance confirmations and changes of circumstances. 

Reconcile SLC and University records to ensure data accuracy. 

Support tuition fee administration and maintenance of fee schedules. 

Provide advice and guidance to students and staff on student funding and tuition fees. 

Support fee reassessments and amendments resulting from changes in student circumstances. 

Assist with student registration activities. 

Produce reports and management information to support operational and compliance requirements. 

Contribute to the continuous improvement of student fees and funding processes. 

Support the implementation of regulatory and funding changes, including the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE). 

Ideal Candidate

This opportunity suits someone with strong UK student funding knowledge and experience in a guidance, advisory or student-facing role, ideally supporting students or young people in Higher Education. 

Essential Skills and Experience

You will have degree-level education or equivalent professional experience, with experience in HE, FE, student services, student support, student finance or a related area. Strong communication, organisation, accuracy and attention to detail are essential. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

Experience with Student Finance England, the SLC, SAP or student records systems would be advantageous, as would awareness of LLE and wider HE funding developments. 

Personal Qualities 

You will be customer-focused, accurate, proactive and able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and external stakeholders, working well independently and as part of a team.  

This role is offered as a temporary position or internal secondment until 31 Dec 2027.
