Reuben College is Oxford’s newest graduate-only college, with around 600 students and 40 staff. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the College in reviewing and strengthening its health and safety arrangements. 

About the role

This is a project-based role offering the opportunity to make a real impact by helping shape a consistent, proportionate and sustainable approach to health and safety at the College. You will work across a range of activities where processes and documentation are at varying stages of development, bringing clarity and momentum to an evolving area. You will ensure that health and safety records, responsibilities and working practices are robust, proportionate and consistently applied, and that the College’s local arrangements align effectively with the University of Oxford’s Health & Safety framework. 

About you

You will be pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the ability to establish clear systems of accountability and support managers, staff and students to adopt safe working practices across the College community. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively with a range of stakeholders will be important. 

This post if offered on a part-time basis (15 to 22.5 hour per week), fixed-term for 6 months.

This opportunity is also open to internal candidates as a secondment, subject to agreement with the individual’s substantive line manager and operational requirements.
