About the Department
The Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University is one of the largest and most successful engineering schools in the UK, consistently ranked among the top ten for our disciplines. The school wishes to grow its Mechanical Engineering teaching and research capability with a high-calibre appointment in the mechanics of extreme environments, hypersonics with a focus on applications in the defence sector. We welcome candidates with strengths across high-impact and high-rate mechanics, ballistics and the response of materials and structures under extreme conditions, including those with experimental and computational expertise in extreme regimes.
